European Arrest Warrant: Prominent Cases
I thought we were in Europe to uphold the rule of law, evidently not. Why didn't the Australian High Commissioner turn up in court to demand Assange's release? Krudd seems supremely indifferent to Assange's fate. I didn't even realise he was still in the government let alone Foreign Minister. Wouldn't fancy the prospect of being an Aussie abroad while he's still in charge.
Ask David Hicks about high level help from an Australian government.
.
There is just a tad difference in that Hicks was a self confessed Jihadist.
No he was actually a total farkwit. But he shouldn't have been held for that long without trial. I couldn't have cared less if the US tried him and shot him in Bumfark. Alabama, if only for rank stupidity. But you don't hold people without trial if you're claiming to be the good guys.
Quite frankly, i think the ****** should still be there.

I'm cancelling my sex tourist holiday in Gothenburg, that's for sure. I'm thinking of going to Newcastle-on-Tyne, instead. The women don't give a flying f**k there.

I'm moving back down south soon I'm afraid, but all you really need to do is sit on a bench and someone will jump on.

Did someone just use one of Glen Beck's semi-retarded, nutcase blackboard lectures to "prove" something?!

Did you watch it? Unusually, you may have ended up agreeing with most of it, if you had, and it was quite informative 9and amusing) about JA's (tangled) sex life. Publishing leaked documents certainly does have its fringe benefits, it appears, as long as you don't enjoy them in Sweden and you stay out of the range of a European Arrest Warrant.

It was pretty much the only thing I've ever agreed with him on to be fair.

This is so ironic the man who gets his kicks/power by outing confidential "assesments / thoughts" of people in power on others is now at the receiving end. Would have been poetic justice if these revalations about Julian from one his co workers had also been pusblished as a leak.

Heavyweight (literally after putting all the weight he'd lost recently back on) Ch Nein political reporter Laurie Oakes won Australia's most prestigious journalism award, the Gold Walkley, last night. In his rambling speech he fiercely backed Assange's Wikileaks actions.

He won his Wankley for his reporting of leaked information during the election campaign ...be a bit hypocritical (even for Ch Nein journos) to condemn a leak reporter

Yes I know, but it just struck me as hella bandwagony in front of a very receptive audience.

I liked oakes' description of Gillard and Abbott as political pygmies.

Rather like the line in the 1954 Bob Hope film Casanova's Big Night:
"I'll have you know my brother is twice as clever as me"
"You mean he's a halfwit."
