So where were you when Paris and Haddit

Post by skully on Fri 26 Nov 2010, 22:35

...got Australia out of the poo with a brilliant 307 stand and then we lost 5-31 and bowled tosh in the final 45 minutes?

I was admiring the greatness of Test Cricket from my comfy chair, just like I wish I could every week.

Watching most of it on the teev until a blackout struck so I missed the last 30 runs of the partnership.

Likewise skullywag. How grouse is proper Test cricket cheers

I'm betting Jimmy had you chewing yer fingernails for that first hour eh what? I take nothing at all away from your bats when I say 481 could just as easily have been half that score, had we had "the rub of the green" so to speak.

Can't help thinking though it would be a more accurate reflection of the bowling had Anderson got the Michelle rather than Finn.....

Wandered into the Manhattan for a quick look just as Hadds was cutting loose and Shirley Temple was projecting the pacifier (YAY!), was five houses from home when Braze suddenly advanced on his ton (Bugger!), went out to vote during lunch so as not to miss any more action and copped a bloody hailstorm on the way out of the school having Done My Civic Duty....

Damn straight, Growls. Just an outstanding spell from him. Could've just as easily cleaned us up with an ounce of luck. As I said on the Test thread - the best wicketless spell of bowling I've ever seen.

And aye, no justice in Finn getting 6 (but credit to him nonetheless) and Jimmy only 2.

Dragged my sorry arse out of bed at 7.30am and despatched it to the lounge all day. Struggled through the first hour - damn those English bowlers very angry - but then a combination of caffeine and some great shots from Haddin and Hussey picked my spirits up.

Sent the Annoying People to the town of Tom Price to do the grocery shopping at 11.00am: a 160km return trip. Twisted Evil

Lost coverage shortly after Hussey got out and got it back again to see the last wicket fall.

Missed most of the tosh from our lot as said Annoying People came home and I had to put groceries away. Contemplated complaining about how unfair it was but wisely decided to keep my trap shut. Tomorrow is another day Cool

Hmmmm. Not too bad at all, this thing they call Test Cricket. snigger

Almost felt sorry for Jimikins to be honest - he will bowl much worse than that and take a Michelle.

Still, also shows what a grouse partnership it was - first 300+ stand ever at the Gabba.

Got a text from Woody saying exactly that - and I agreed.

A truly remarkable day's Test Cricket.

All I want to know is, did JGK fire someone today?

I think that's what we're all wondering...

My husband got home and said "Bloody hell. That was an expensive shop!" 'Course it was - I included everything I could possibly think of to the shopping list. Laughing

I once sent the Annoying People to Perth: a round trip of 7000km. Got to watch every ball of that test match. Twisted Evil

Unfortch the only shops we have here are an IGA, a post office and a newsagency. None of which are open tomorrow howl
